Mother’s Day is an auspicious day for me as I had my son on that particular day and this year his birthday again falls on Sunday 14th May, so happy birthday to my first born child and happy Mothers Day to friends and mothers all over!
Who doesn’t love a delicious fragrance, and if your kids don’t take the hint maybe it’s time to for a self-spoil? I’ve rounded up some of my favourite new fragrance finds:
Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Pure EDT
I adored the original Issey Miyake perfume that came out in the early nineties, not only for its fresh aquatic floral scent but the modern, clean lines of the bottle. Miyake designed the bottle himself based on the view from his Parisian apartment of a full moon rising behind the Eiffel Tower. Since 2007 Miyake has brought out a ‘limited time only’ fragrance for women and this version is made up of some gorgeous notes like jasmine, Damask rose and orange blossom in the top and middle notes, and rounded off with cashmere, wood and amber. The combination makes for a light, fresh and floral everyday scent

SIGNORINA by Salvatore Ferragamo EDP
A fruity floral gourmand that opens with punchy pink pepper, sweet jasmine and gentle rose notes, settling into a subtle mixture of musk, patchouli and panchetta; a very wearable fragrance.

Chloe Love Story Eau Sensuelle EDP
If you loved the previous two from Chloe’s Love Story line, the original Love Story Eau de Parfum (2014) and the Eau de Toilette (2016) version, I expect you’ll love this too!
Chloe Love Story Eau Sensuelle is inspired by the love padlocks on the Pont des Arts bridge in Paris. They’ve since removed the padlocks as the weight was affecting the bridge, but if you fancy replicating the pledge of love to each other, you could drive up to admire the spectacular view on Signal Hill in the Mother City and “lock your love” on the railings.
Perfumers Anne Flipo (who is responsible for the previous editions) and Domitille Bertier created an “essentially sensual” version with similar notes but intensified the main ingredient, orange blossom (heaven!), mixed with jasmine and heliotrope, settling down with warm and sensual velvety sandalwood. A fresh floral scent.
Chloe Love Story Eau Sensuelle EDP
Early morning skies of pale pink and orange streaks is Missoni’s inspiration for the bottle, which is similar to the predecessor Missoni EDP with its darker red and blue hues. The juice itself conjures up the essence of summer: blood oranges, pink berries and juicy Nashi pear, with peony, freesia and heliotrope at the centre, ending with warm base notes of white cedar and musk. A feast of fresh feminine notes.
SISLEY Izia EDP
“IZIA is an inspired perfume that you notice and commit to memory, long after its scent trail has dissipated” – Isabelle d’Ornano, co-founder of Sisley Paris.
Inspired by a rose that blooms for only ten days of the year, co-founder Isabelle d’Ornano wanted to include it in the new Sisley Izia EDP fragrance. The unique scent opens with pink pepper and white bergamot before moving into an elegant and sophisticated heart of rose, angelica and floral notes, ending with warm cedar, musk and amber. I fell in love with this sensual fragrance instantly and I think it’s a good one to wear throughout winter or in the evenings as it’s slightly heavier. Personally I’ve been wearing it daily as it is just too gorgeous! That’s the beauty of having a few fragrances: you can select to reflect how you are feeling.
