Sun Essentials: Payot Brume Mist, Nivea Protect & Moisture SPF50 & HelioCare Advance Gel SPF

For the past two weeks, we’ve been blessed with gorgeous sunny skies and I think we can safely say summer is here to stay; there’s no denying a little bit of sun fills the heart with positive and feel-good factors! I’ve put together three summer essentials I’m currently using that retail each under R300: NIVEA SUN Protect & Moisture Sun Lotion SPF50 (R169), My Payot Brume Eclat revivifying mist (R259) and HelioCare Advance Gel SPF50 (R295):

HelioCare Advance Gel SPF50

Years of tanning without suncream has taken its toll on my skin so it goes without saying that my routine includes an SPF every day, so I am currently using HelioCare Advanced Gel SPF50.

It ticks the boxes for:

– being lightweight

– sinks into skin quickly

– doesn’t leave any white residue

– is oil-free so no breakouts for me

– feels non-greasy or tacky

– it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes

– non-comedogenic

– suitable for all skin types

Key ingredients are FernBlock, a natural plant extract found in Central America which contains photoprotective properties and a broad spectrum protection to protect skin. It’s consistently a best-seller on Dermastore website available here.

NIVEA SUN Protect & Moisture Sun Lotion SPF50

I’m a hurry-up let’s go girl on the weekend, so I like to wake up, get dressed before walking down to the beach for an early morning swim, so this particular Nivea cream ticks the boxes for:

-not messing up my clothes if I accidentally get cream on them thanks to an anti-stain formula

– pleasant smell

– sinks in quickly

– moisturises my skin whilst offering UVA/UVB sun protection

– water resistant

-best price point (R169 for 200ml)

My Payot Brume Eclat Revivifying Mist

I’m a fan of facial mists to keep skin hydrated, so am always on the lookout for new ones. This one caught my eye because it contains anti-aging ingredients like hyaluronic acid and superfruit extracts. It ticks the boxes for:

– formulated with no alcohol (so is non-drying)

– can be used for freshening up throughout the day

– used over makeup to help set

– refresh, hydrate and protect skin

– used at night after your night cream to intensify the regenerative properties

– suitable for all skin types

(R259 for 50ml)

Have you tried any of these and do you like them? Please share your comments below:

I’ll say cheerio, it’s time to go and get ready for a new week!

Happy Sunday!
