“Jimmy Choo L’eau is the scented interpretation of a delicious thirst quenching water of hibiscus flowers blended with barks, fruits and vibrant woods, to create a radiant feminine sensuality.” – Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Perfumer
If springtime could be bottled it would smell like this: fresh, fruity and floral! Jimmy Choo’s latest fragrance L’Eau is a concoction of citrusy sparkling top notes of Bergamot and hibiscus flowers; juicy nectarine and a delicate whiff of peony lie at the heart and at the dry-down is sensual cedarwood and powdery musk. I am so ready to move on from the cold winter days and smelling this reminded me a new season is just around the corner! Hues of dusty pinks, peaches, pastels and chambray denim form part of our spring/summer fashion palette, and I think this fragrance fits into that mix beautifully. “The immediate evocation of a fresh and delicate journey: Jimmy Choo L’Eau is a delicate breath, a soft caress on the skin.”
Here’s a peek at Jimmy Choo L’Eau commercial; my heart did a little hop skip and a jump when I saw the sleek silver roller skates the model wears – LOVE them, in fact, I once contemplated taking up roller derby just to wear pink rollerskates!

“I conceived the fragrance as an ode to The Parisian Woman. The idea was to point a multi-faceted woman through the senses” – Perfumer Alexandra Monet
Ted Lapidus Orissimo fragrance celebrates The Parisian, (and in my heart, I so wish I was one of those stylishly chic French women who eat what they want, dress impeccably while juggling motherhood, worker and entertaining almost effortlessly and they Palez-vous francais!) Dream on girl!
Ted Lapidus has been in the French fashion industry for many years, but as I have never tried any of his fragrances before, I was keen to read up on his background and of course try out his latest fragrance Orissima. Ted Lapidus is credited to bringing denim into mainstream fashion as well as making it wearable and sexy; introducing safari and military looks to haute couture and considered the pioneer to unisex fashion!
Ted Lapidus Orissimo fragrance is a chypre floral gourmand consisting of delightful and delicious fruity and floral notes of grapefruit, peach, orange blossom, peony, iris, patchouli, caramel and musk. The bottle represents the city architecture to symbolise the many faces of a Parisian women.
Gentle fruity and floral first notes settle into a powdery down with caramel being a recognisable base note combined with musk. An ode to sophistication and elegance, I’m so glad I got to try out this scent (and the price point is really attractive too!) A charming and attractive aroma, one I would certainly wear day and night!
A view from the 26th floor downtown onto Cape Town’s skyline of the waterfront and harbour at sunset is rather spectacular and not for the fainthearted. (Our photographer assured us that as he was above a certain height he could deal with his vertigo!) Moet Champagne flowed and canapes kept us fuelled before stepping into a room full of golden delights and the introduction to Bvlgari’s third fragrance addition to the Bvlgari Goldea line, Goldea The Roman Night.
The face of Bvlgari’s latest fragrance, supermodel Bella Hadid, is the quintessential element of a millenial who embodies the golden fragrance. (Studies reflect that by 2020, millenials will form 50% of the global workforce which means big spending power, so we’re seeing more and more luxury brands catering for this generation).
Top notes include juicy dark sensual fruits with the rarest of peonies, the black peony, to conjure up a mysterious dark side of this flower, combined with a delicate innocence that comes through from the middle notes of Indian jasmine and Tuberose. Both of these only flower after dark; the former an intoxicating powerful scent and Tuberose, a star jewel in perfume notes, is delicate and hypnotic, an electrifying scent, sometimes referred to as ‘the mistress of the night’! Base notes of black musks, patchouli and vetiver form a fragrant trilogy of powerful sensual notes.
I love the combination of fruity and floral notes on first spray, settling down with sensual and powerful warm earthy woody notes, a scent I have been wearing for the past few days (and nights!)
Bvlgari Goldea The Roman Night will be exclusive to Edgars and available from the 31 JULY 2017
