Last year Elizabeth Arden partnered with Sparrow Society’s Make a Visible Difference Community Hero and due to it’s success decided on doing it again this year providing customers with the opportunity to not only receive a gift but support a fabulous initiative. Kate Senekal of Sparrow Society says, “this year’s gift features a bolder design with an even bigger impact. Inspired by the graphic, geometric nature of African prints, with a twist. Due to the campaign’s incredible success in 2017, Sparrow Society was able to put 12 of our artisans through a business training course to equip them to start their own small business”, says Kate.

I always find this time of the year is good to add another foundation to my normal one, with a shade or two darker as I spend a bit of time in the sun! ELIZABETH ARDEN GELATO CRUSH Collection of creamy formulas and pops of colour make every day feel and taste like summer!

I had one of the nicest Sundays last weekend where I spent most of the day listening to music blaring through the speakers and trying out my Elizabeth Arden Plush Up Lip Gelatos again. I’ve had them sitting on various surfaces around the house for a few weeks now, trying out the colours and perfecting a lippie (yes, its time to upload some videos which I’ve been thinking about, but baulk at the thought of having to peer at myself wondering if good enough to look fresh and sparkly like some of my contemporaries); but a new year looms and I have loads of ideas up my sleeve! SO back to Elizabeth Arden Plush Up Lip Gelatos and Lip Iiners!

Elizabeth Arden Plush Up Lip Gelatos comes in ten shades and I chose these three as my perfect summer choice for day & night wear. From left to right: BLACK CHERRY, RED DOOR CRUSH & STRAWBERRY SORBET. Not only are they soft and creamy due to hyaluronic acid, shea butter and peptides, but there’s a faint sweet taste which is always a bonus for me! I’ve had a week of pre productions and meetings and despite drinking copious amounts of cappuccinos, my lipsticks have shown good staying power and not dried out my lips.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Colour arrived just at the right time, mid morning on a cold winter’s day when I had just taken a peek at my pale face and wished that it were possible to quickly escape to an exotic island for some sun! If a warm and natural ‘no makeup’ look is what you’re after, then this one’s for you (and me!).

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Colour forms part of the Chanel Cruise Collection 2017: les Indispensables De L’Ete. Made with ultra-fine gold particles the powder creates a subtle, natural veil over the skin and comes in five shades: light, medium light, medium, medium deep and deep.

I tried out the Medium Light shade, as I am naturally pale and wanted just a gentle sprinkling of colour. The ultra-sheer and lightweight formula gives a subtle and natural glow to my skin so if you’re pale like me try out one shade darker than your skin tone. If you want to use it as a highlighter then buy a shade one lighter than your skin tone and apply to the middle of forehead, apples of cheeks, Cupid’s bow and the end of your nose where light bounces off to give you touches of luminosity.

NEW ADDITIONS: Bodyography Make-Up

Plant Cafe was a fitting environment for BODYOGRAPHY to showcase some new additions to their make-up range, as all their products are vegan-friendly (I settled for an almond cappaccino which was delish!).

Bodyography always come up with awesome gems like these glitter pigments below which I couldn’t resist dipping my fingers into and marvelling at the sparkle!

Bodyography glitter pigments (eight in total) have a unique gel formula to stop the product from falling, are creamy, silky and have a high glitter and pearl finish. Best applied with your finger (phew!) or a flat brush, you can use the glitter pigments dry, over an eyeshadow to add some glitter or wet if intensity is what you’re after.

Bodyography Lip Lavas were another moment of ooh-ing and aah-ing. They really are ultra soft, non-sticky, come in gorgeous matte and metallic finishes, have three times more pigment and the slanted applicator makes it easier to apply. I’ve been wearing Bodyography BASIC Lip Lava (from the matte range) for a couple of hours and after two cups of coffee the colour is still great and feels weightless. These are perfect lip products for people who have meetings, events or a long night ahead where there’s little time for make-up retouches, as these sure are non-drying and long lasting!

Multi-tasking products score high in my books and Bodyography Cover and Correct Under Eye Concealer Duo is a goodie for concealing dark circles and pigmentation while brightening the eye area. Ingredients include caffeine to stimulate circulation while shea butter hydrates and moisturises. Available in 3 shades: light, medium and dark. (The corrector is in the top part of compact and the creamy concealer is below).
