REVIEW: Sisley Paris Velvet Nourishing Cream & Anti-Age Firming Concentrate Serum

Ingredients in a beauty product intrigue me and saffron is Sisley Velvet Nourishing Cream and Sisleya L’Integral Anti-Age Firming Concentrate Serum star ingredient which piques my interest; here’s what I thought:

As 75 000 blossoms are needed to make half a kilogram of saffron spice, and largely cultivated and harvested by hand, Saffron is considered as one of the world’s most expensive spices; not only a culinary ingredient, saffron has marched into a plethora of beauty products. With powerful anti-oxidant properties, the ability to increase brightness in skin tone, reduce lines and wrinkles, improve radiance, hydration, skin texture and boasts a high Vitamin C content, its no wonder Saffron is the beauty buzzword for 2019!

Sisley Velvet Nourishing Cream with Saffron flowers

At this time of the year in between seasons I’m upping the heater whilst driving and my skin gets into a bit of a tizzy with spells of tightness and discomfort. Knowing a youthful radiant glowing skin of yesteryear is never going to be on the cards again, I was really happy with the results while using Sisley Velvet Nourishing Cream combined with Sisleya L’Integral Anti-Age Firming Concentrate Serum. Maintaining a good beauty routine and trying out beauty products with fab ingredients definitely helps plump, firm and nourish my skin. I actually had a couple of peeps commenting on how good my skin looked, (amazing when you are feeling your crappiest) so thank you to the combination of these two that really fed my dry skin!

Below is a copy courtesy of Sisley on massage techniques to help work products in more constructively:

Sisleya Essential Skin Care techniques

Sisley Velvet Nourishing Cream with Saffron flowers can be used throughout the day and night (I popped an SPF over the moisturiser during the day). Buckwheat seed extract is high in B Vitamins, especially niacin which enhances blood vessel strength. Iron, magnesium and phosphorus improves blood oxygenation, whilst shea butter repairs and fortifies skin damaged by outdoor elements. Cottonseed, Macadamia and Sunflower oils help to restore the lipid balance and revives skin’s suppleness and comfort. Japanese Lilyturf and Padina pavonica extract replenishes water reserves and activates the skin’s natural nutrition mechanisms to regain a lipid balance.

Sisleya L'Integral Anti-Age Firming Concentrate Serum

Sisleya L’Integral Anti-Age Firming Concentrate Serum restores the density and curves of youth (I’m way beyond the age of youth, BUT I have noticed the difference in my skin texture and tone as it looks and feels firmer). The serum awakens elastin production and acts on the structural level of the dermis. These two come with a high price tag so definitely are considered as fabulous luxury items on my list, but its amazing what it does to one’s self esteem when your skin feels great, don’t you agree?

I hope its a damn fine Friday up ahead!

REVIEW: The Body Shop Shea Butter Body Lotion & Hair Mask

The Body Shop Shea Nourishing Body Lotion & Replenishing Hair Mask

Dry skin is something I battle with and don’t get me started on dry hair! As a wannabe blonde I sprint to my incredible hair guru David Gillson every six weeks to maintain my highlights and have a treatment, yet still need to keep my tresses nourished in between visits. Ingredients that shout nourishing, moisturising and hydrating for face, hair and body are what I’m constantly on the look out for, so much delight when I received the latest drop from The Body Shop which included Shea Nourishing Body Lotion and Shea Butter Richly Replenishing Hair mask; here’s what I thought….

What’s so special about Shea Butter?

Shea butter originates from the shea tree in Africa, where it is dubbed the ‘Tree of Life’ because it can live up to 300 years and ‘gives’ life and livelihood to its community. Founder Dame Anita Roddick visited Ghana in the early nineties and came across the amazing properties of shea butter and the inspiring women who produce it. Five hundred women from Tungteiya Women’s Shea Butter Association produce the rich shea butter using traditional handcraft techniques in a long 18-stage process handed down through generations.

The Body Shop Shea Nourishing Body Lotion

Damn, I love this rich and creamy texture that sinks in easily and is super nourishing. I’ve only had it for the past fortnight slathering on generously as it’s that good! BesideS shea butter there’s glycerin, an effective humectant, where the loss of moisture is prevented, thereby retaining the skin’s natural moisture as well as olive oil known for its nourishing properties.

The Body Shop Shea Butter Hair Mask

I love a good hair mask and this one’s fab, in fact, I would buy it again and that’s having only used it twice! After shampoo and conditioner, I apply the mask, leaving it in while busying myself around the house; I think the longer I leave a mask in my hair the better, but whether that’s true, I’m not sure. I am not going to lie and say my hair looks salon-worthy (I leave that to Carlton‘s hair drying and styling, but it is manageable, feels soft and most of the frizz has disappeared.

The Body Shop Shea Nourishing Hair Mask

I’ve only been using these for the past two weeks but the simple straight forward ingredients plus no sulfates, no GMOs, 100% vegetarian, never tested on animals, contains Community Fair Trade ingredients and an okay price point, means you can’t go wrong with The Body Shop products, agree?

That is it for today – shout if you have any questions or want..need to know anything!

loccitane terre de lumiere body milk & EDP

I was given a gift voucher for Mothers Day so promptly headed off to L’Occitane in Cavendish to spend it. I have a real love for this brand as I was fortunate enough to fly off to Corsica a few years back to experience first-hand the making of L’Occitane’s Immortelle Divine anti-ageing products; from walking through fields of Immortelle flowers and seeing how each product is produced in the factory, to experiencing the incredible early morning light as we hot air ballooned across endless stretches of lavender; a truly memorable experience, shared with a handful of journalists from all over the world and definitely one of the many highlights of working for a magazine!

“In Provence, there is a unique moment in time, when the light embraces the sky and blesses the earth with a fleeting interval of grace. This is the Golden Hour,” and where the inspiration for Terre de Lumière comes from. L’Occitane has stepped out of their previous chapters of concentrating on a single ingredient by focusing on the emotions at the heart of Provence. L’Occitane’s first Gourmand Aromatic fragrance Terre de Lumiere EDP was created by three women perfumers: Calice Becker, Shyamala Maisondieu and Nadège Le Garlantezec, who share their love of Provence by using notes within the fragrance to capture their childhood memories.

The combination of almond, honey and lavender in both the body milk and fragrance are warming on the skin, heavenly light and fresh. The body milk sinks in easily leaving a slight shimmer on my skin and feels tres luxurious indeed! I bought the travel size Terre de Lumiere L’Occitane en Provence for Women EDP fragrance to complement the Beautifying Body Milk and as I’m travelling up country later in the month, thought them the perfect size to pop into my travel bag.

Top notes of honey and almonds combined with heart notes of lavender are warm and enveloping notes settling down into sensual balsamic and musky base notes; I absolutely love the lingering notes, subtle and perfect for winter days!

loccitane terre de lumiere

The bottle design is like a shape of a pebble with a tinge of golden, an ode to Provence light. L’Occitane founder OivierBaussan said, “Flairs of light inspired the elegant shape of the bottle. A pebble, coloured by the tinted golden hour skies, is represented in the cap.” How lovely is that!

Terre de Lumière L’Occitane en Provence for Women EDP

Travel size R990 for 50ml and R1450 for 90ml

Terre de Lumiere Beautifying Body Milk

Travel size R140 for 50ml and R425 for 250ml

Happy Wednesday peeps and keep warm – it is nippy noodles in the Cape!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost exfoliator, city shield hydrating moisturiser & eye-awakening gel-cream

On most days I take the train into the city as I am trying to leave as small a carbon footprint as possible; yes, public transport has its ups and downs with delays and cancellations, but the majority of the time I love the buzz and feeling of being part of a community and of course there’s time to catch up on reading, podcasts and social media. Having a hectic work schedule leaves little time to spend pampering myself during the week, so I’m always looking for no fuss, easy to use beauty products that deliver great results. Neutrogena® latest additions to the HYDRO BOOST range is specifically designed to help city girls boost their skin defences against the stresses of everyday life and the environment which takes its toll on skin.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliator, Eye-Awakening Gel-Cream & City Shield Hydrating Lotion SPF25

A few months back we attended Neutrogena®, launch held on the rooftop of Radisson RED Hotel, in Silo Square. With a magnificent view of Cape Town harbour and Table Mountain in the background, we were treated to the most delish food with copious amounts of cappuccinos (which always makes me happy), before an informative talk on how the environment affects your skin and a breakdown on the latest additions to Neutrogena® HYDRO BOOST range.

The three products joining the HYDRO BOOST range are: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliator Smoothing Gel, Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Shield Hydrating Lotion SPF25 and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye-Awakening Gel-Cream.The range is designed to boost water levels and strengthen moisture barrier to keep skin supple. I was particularly chuffed to see the moisturiser carries a broad spectrum photo stable SPF25 to shield against UVA and UVB rays. Even for those of us who do not live in the city, we are still exposed to aggressors that have a negative effect on our skin like car exhausts, smoke, stress and sun exposure which all contribute to the generation of free radicals which harm our skin in a major way.

baxter boston terrier /neutrogena launch radisson red hotel

The mascot for Radisson RED is Baxter the Boston Terrier; the hotel is pet friendly and you can check in with your pooch (8kg and under) – cool huh!

Nomzamo Mbatha local face of Neutrogena

It’s always great to see Neutrogena®, local Brand Ambassador Nomzamo Mbatha as she is just so bubbly and upbeat! Look how fab she is in her polka dot dress!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliator, Eye-Awakening Gel-Cream & City Shield Hydrating Lotion SPF25

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliator Smoothing Gel
I’m wary of exfoliants with granules, but this is a really gentle exfoliator with naturally derived microbeads, so no nasty plastic beads getting sloshed down the drain. With hydrating hyaluronic acid and the combination of Neutrogena cleansing technology this cleanses and moisturises at the same time, and doesn’t dry out my skin or make it feel “taut”. R99,95

Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Shield Hydrating Lotion SPF25

I’ve used Neutrogena® consistently over the years as they are a reliable brand delivering real results, so I’m chuffed as I said earlier, that they have included an SPF with a moisturiser. I find it is enough protection if I’m popping out to grab a bite, but if spending more time outdoors, I’d add a higher SPF50. (I wish I had been vigilant about suncream in my early years, but I refused to listen to my mother ranting on about the harsh midday sun, because I wanted to look “healthy” and tanned and now I see tell-tale signs of pigmentation and dark spots coming through). Nevertheless, back to this lightweight texture I love, as it sinks in easily, is non-greasy, and a great canvas before applying makeup.

The flat tube looks small, but it is actually the same size as a tub of 50ml moisturiser, and a little goes a long way. It’s the perfect size and shape to pop into a gym bag or for travelling as it takes up less space, won’t break and has a no-nonsense flip lid. R139,95

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye-Awakening Gel-Cream
A refreshing gel formula designed for the eye area and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes. It also contains Neutrogena’s unique Hyaluronic Gel Matrix for an intense shot of hydration which lasts for the entire day. It is perfect for application under makeup too and helps with dark rings and circles around the eye area. R139,95

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliator, Eye-Awakening Gel-Cream & City Shield Hydrating Lotion SPF25

Available at selected Clicks, Dis-Chem, Foschini & pharmacies nationwide.

Let me know if you’ve tried out any of these newbies? I think the price points are good, as they are all under R140; not too shabby!

I love pretty underwear so was most excited to come across Takkleberry’s lacy knickers and bralettes, locally designed and made in South Africa. I caught up with owner Taryn King, whose passion for the brand is evident; she shares her inspiration, entering the local market, her future plans and dreams:

The gorgeous owner Taryn King

Tell us a bit about yourself:

I live in Cape Town with my bullterrier pup, Badger who has taught me to throw caution to the wind, to not take life too seriously and to live in the moment. When I’m not in the studio or having conversations with dogs I meet in the park, you’ll find me getting lost in the mountains. I’m an avid trail runner and like to keep my office-to-mountain hours pretty much balanced. Getting out into nature completely relaxes me, providing me with perspective and energy. I love the feeling of heading out into the mountains with bare essentials, literally unplugging from the world.

About the name T a k k l e b e r r y:

My nickname from when I was a kid was Takkie which then evolved into Takkle. I heard somebody call me ‘Takkleberry’ once and I liked it! A Takkleberry is also like a hardcore utility belt, (think moonbag on steroids! ) used by superheroes and officers to carry their weapons, which I thought was pretty bad-ass!

The Inspiration Behind the Brand:

I’ve always loved pretty, feminine things; polka dot socks with frilly trims, floral headbands; delicately embroidered scarves, pjs with lace trims and pockets and ruffles and mostly I love pretty underwear! My wardrobe is a collection of beautiful pieces that mean something to me, whether there’s a story behind how I came to own them or because of the way they make me feel when wearing them.

‘Some days are blue jeans and white t-shirt days and some days I want to be a fairy with flowers in my hair. But it’s not everyday you can leave the house in a Clown Suit just because you woke up feeling playful and ridiculous! And that’s the beauty of underwear – it’s for you alone. You can be rocking a pair of baby-blue-highrise-knickers and a frilly bralette you picked up in a thrift store in Sorento, no matter what the dress code calls for’.

‘I’m all about delicate fibres and textures that feel wonderful on my skin. The tricky thing when it comes to underwear is finding pieces that are both beautiful to look at AND which feel beautiful on! I recently cleared out my lingerie drawers and tossed so many items which I had held onto for so long because they were just too lovely to part with and trying them on again, I remembered just why I have never actually worn them- life is too short for camel-toe and hungry-bum underwear!

I am always on the scout for pretty, comfy panties to add to my collection. And to be honest it’s a battle. Finding underwear in South Africa that is vaguely affordable, well made and not mass produced in China is next to impossible. T a k k l e b e r r y ‘s vision is to change that.

How it Began:

‘I did research on producing my own line and there are some disheartening stories about the clothing manufacturing industry in South Africa; the many factories bought by Chinese companies just to be shut down. As a result there are so many highly talented seamstresses, machinists, pattern makers with decades of experience and world class skills, that are now out of work’.

‘I met many wonderful men and women who have been sewing garments for 40 years, who found the industry they had dedicated their lives to implode around them. The disappearance of big factories has meant that some have since started up mini home-based factories of their own, but in order to compete with the big dogs they end up working for next to nothing”.

My business partner:

One of the amazing women I met is vibrant and sassy Claudine, an incredible machinist, and best of all , is an ‘ideas woman’, helping me shape, visualize and run the Takkleberry brand as a business. Meeting wonderful people like Claudine with their heartfelt stories had me rethink my own purchasing habits as well as the impact I have as an entrepreneur.

Claudine’s dream was to start her own clothing manufacturing operation, but lacked the capital, so I was able to invest in Claudine’s vision, and together we are a rockstar team indeed! Claudine’s in charge of the production team, quality controller, head machinist, and most important, the person who keeps me in check and keeps me laughing. My best days are spent in Claudine’s studio, drinking coffee with the ladies, laughing and talking about our big plans.

Plans for the Future:

Our focus is on creating beautiful underwear to happy bums around South Africa. We’re overwhelmed with the way TAKKLEBERRY has been received since launching in December, and already selling at our current production capacity, which is fabulous! Our plan within the next few months is to do some collaborations with other local brands which emulate our business philosophy and to stock physical stores as well. Watch this space!

On the CMT side of things, our growing team is moving into bigger studio space to allow Claudine and team the opportunity to take on more contracts from other start up businesses who share our mindset. Our dream is to see the clothing manufacturing industry in Cape Town rebuilt in a way which is is sustainable, fair, collaborative and inclusive.

The way forward:

I am so excited to come across entrepreneurs and designers who are following the global movement toward sustainable and ethical fashion and lifestyle choices. It’s no longer okay to shop unconsciously, nor okay to run a business without your impact on your community and the world around you being at the forefront of your decisions. Like all things, this takes time, but I believe we’ll get there.

For now, we have a responsibility as producers to educate other producers; to collaborate; to share ideas and resources. Not to exploit local independent producers but rather to empower them and help grow the industry we operate in. To upskill our people and offer opportunities for the younger generation to get involved to protect the longevity of the industry and of our own businesses.

Most importantly we have a responsibility as consumers. To talk to our friends, parents, colleagues, children about how we can contribute; and to put each other under pressure to think about the bigger impact of our actions and choices”.

(I love Taryn’s passion as not only talented, but is one of the gorgeous models in images above -HOT or what!!)

Happy Friday peeps!!

REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

Most nights I climb into bed and am out like a light, yet sometimes, despite being exhausted, my mind wanders as I turn out the light and I’m on a to-do list rollercoaster and suddenly it’s past midnight and in panic mode of counting the hours before my alarm goes off . Apparently I’m not alone in suffering sleep deprivation; statistically 45% of the world’s population experience sleep problems, which affects our health and wellbeing. After attending the Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon launch a few weeks back where we were given the load down on key ingredients to help you fall asleep and work on your skin’s regeneration process, I couldn’t wait to try Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon out for myself; here’s what I thought:

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

“While the skin is in repair mode and blood flow increases at night, it’s the optimal time for the absorption of active ingredients to target signs of skin fatigue,” explains education manager for the International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica, Emma Hobson.

dermalogica sound sleep cocoon

Formulated to work at night, Sound Sleep Cocoon works with the body’s natural circadian rhythms, (the distinct periods of biological activity occurring while we are awake or asleep, also known as the sleep/wake cycle). If you’re caught up on sleep, you won’t feel the dips so radically between the swings of sleepiness and alertness. Better quality sleep means your skin is able to regenerate and restore itself from harmful free radicals and environmental damage way more efficiently.

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon helps this process by sending you into a deep, relaxing sleep allowing your body to repair, restore, and regenerate skin cells from the free radical damage. You have these key ingredients to be thankful for:

Lavandin Oil has been encapsulated with motion-activated biodegradable microcapsules which release on your skin as you toss and turn to aid sleeping thanks to calming essential oils, working on replenishing your skin at the same time.

Nicknamed the ‘night sleeper’ due to the tree leaves opening during the day and closing at night,

Persian Silk Tree Extract fights free radicals, reduces signs of fatigue, while brightening and plumping tired skin. It also helps to fight Advanced Glycation End-products (AGEs), which contribute to wrinkles, loss of elasticity and collagen.

Widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, Wu-Zhu-Yu helps even skin texture and visibly brightens dull tired skin.

Kakadu Plum Extract contains Vitamin C, a potent antioxidant to help with skin damage, premature ageing, improving skin tone and luminosity.

Tamarind Seed Extract has a chemical structure similar to hyaluronic acid, to reduce water loss while promoting the skin’s natural hydration process.

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

So, a night gel-cream packed with goodness and soothing lavender scent to help you sleep, after massaging cream in to release motion-activated essential scents. The packaging is something I’m really loving as it’s super hygienic where all you have to do is twist, press down with a perfect amount of product being dispensed. I tend to be heavy-handed when it comes to using products so am hoping this lasts me realistically six weeks. I keep the cream next to my bed so that after I have done my beauty routine I can pop it on before turning out the light!

So now for the exciting part; if this product appeals to you, it may just be your lucky day as I have one DERMALOGICA SOUND SLEEP COCOON worth R1295 to GIVEAWAY! All you have to do is answer the question below:

Name one ingredient found in Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon

elemis anti-aging cleansing balm and apricot toner

I hanker after a fresh-faced glowing skin as am sure most of us do, so I was eager to take up the offer of trying out ELEMIS NOURISHED GLOW KIT for the month of February and report back on how it went! Here’s what I thought and yay, there’s an ELEMIS NOURISHED GLOW KIT GIVEAWAY up for grabs too!

elemis anti-aging cleansing balm and apricot toner

I spend a huge amount of time in an air con environment and come weekends, I like to walk and swim, feeling the sun on my skin, so wanting a natural healthy glowing skin while braving the elements is no small feat, (unless we are talking about a sweaty glow from exertion!) Elemis Nourished Glow kit includes an Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm, for renewing and solftening skin, Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner for toning and smoothing & Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules for replenishing & nourishing.

I’ve been an Elemis lover for a good many years, in fact, thanks to my beauty bestie Chereen Strydom, from For the Beauty of It (check out her awesome blog here) who introduced me to Elemis Pro-collagen Cleansing Balm singing its praises; being naturally curious in beauty products she loves, I gave it a try and have been in love with it ever since!

elemis anti-aging pro-collagen cleansing balm

On opening the balm a heavenly aromatic smell awakens the senses, bringing a spa experience to mind. With the addition of water the thick texture changes into a soft milky runny consistency which is easy to massage into skin. You really only need a small scoop no bigger than your pinky nail so the product lasts at least three to four months, if not longer. Key ingredient Padina Pavonica is known to boost skin’s defenses, firming and helping with elasticity; Starflower oil, rich in GLA maintains skin’s optimum metabolism, improving the barrier function. Optimega oil prevents water loss, while Mimosa and Rose flower wax softens skin and restores elasticity. Elderberry oil is anti-inflammatory containing 80% fatty acids and micronutrients and nourishing Shea butter for dry and dehydrated skin. When purchasing Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm you are given a cloth to wash off the product, but isn’t available in the kit, so I suggest using your own sponge or muslin cloth which works a treat! I rate this cleansing balm as one of my all-time favourites for a super clean, nourished glowing complexion.

elemis apricot soothing toner

Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner maintains the skin’s natural PH level without using harsh detergents or alcohol. I stay clear of toners containing alcohol as they are very drying on my already dry skin. I have sensitive eyes, yet the toner and the balm don’t irritate them, so I can remove makeup with both products quite happily. Sweet almond oil, Quilla wood and sweet Betty flower soothes, leaving skin fresh and radiant. I have this toner sitting in the fridge for a cooling effect when I feel I need a bit of a ‘pick me upper’ after sitting in front of a computer. If you have five minutes to take some downtime, soak cottonwool pads with the toner and place them on your eyes for five minutes – just heaven as a revitalizing spritzer!

I’ve been lucky in trying out these awesome Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules previously, keeping them in my desk drawers for daily doses of reviving my senses and skin. The pink day capsules contain rose absolute to enhance well being and give a glow to the cheekbones, lips and temples. The green ones are for night time use, containing soothing lavender for tired skin. Precious oils from the Tanzania ‘miracle tree’, Moringa and Oleifera are all aromatic essential oils that enhance your glow. There are only 14 capsules in the kit so I used one every second day with my daily moisturiser and night cream. (I do prefer using one everyday as an added boost to glowing skin!)

Overall the combination of these three Elemis products have given my tired stressed skin a renewed glow and I absolutely loved the experience. So now its your turn; if you’re wanting to stand a chance to win your own NOURISHED GLOW KIT, a targeted cleansing kit, here’s what you have to do: Comment below or drop me an email and tell me why you would like to win this kit.

payot sun sensi spf50, my payot brume eclat and hydra 24+ cfreme glacee

With a few summer months still ahead I thought todays GIVEAWAY is perfect for time spent in the sun as it consists of PAYOT SPF50 Sun Sensi Protectant, a PAYOT Anti-Pollution Revivifying Mist and a Plumping Moisturising Cream.

PAYOT has been around since the 1920’s with founder Dr Nadia Payot becoming one of the first female doctors involved in the women’s rights movement. Inspired by Russian prima ballerina, Anna Pavlova, Dr Nadia Payot came to understand the importance of techniques to preserve the skin’s beauty and youth and the idea of ‘What if facial exercise could work as an anti-aging too?’ was born. Payot developed and starting performing facial exercises on her clients, massage techniques which are still practised to this day. The next step in her journey was to create tailor-made treatments to work in conjunction to facial exercises she developed. There’s a little background on this great French brand, but let’s get on with todays GIVEAWAY!

payot sun sensi spf50, my payot brume eclat and hydra 24+ cfreme glacee

I wrote a post on PAYOT SPF50 Sun Sensi Protectant (R369) SHOP HERE a month ago about its super non-greasy consistency. It’s a fab sunscreen with SPF50 I’ve enjoyed using throughout summer. The next two products up for grabs is PAYOT Anti-Pollution Revivifying Mist 125ML (R265) SHOP HERE with hyaluronic acid and superfruit extracts. I’ve chatted about hyaluronic acid before. It’s an ingredient to look out as it holds its water content 10000 times more than any other product, making it a must-have ingredient for anyone with anti-ageing concerns.

My PAYOT Brume Eclat is an alcohol-free light, airy water mist to invigorate, hydrate and refresh skin, while enhancing skin’s radiance (and we’re all about a glowing and radiant skin!). It also protects against everyday pollution and best of all it sets your makeup and can be used throughout the day for a quick ‘pick me up”. I’m a sucker for face mists especially at this time of year and is my go-to for refreshing my skin as I work in an aircon environment all day.

PAYOT CREME GLACEE (R589) SHOP HERE like the name itself, has a soft consistency that is cooling, sinking in easily while feeding your skin with goodness. Fig and watermelon extracts are excellent sources of anti-oxidants like Vitamin E & C to improve elasticity and play a major role in the production of collagen. Vitamin B, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium and calcium rejuvenate skin and of course they all help to fight free radicals to slow down the signs of ageing.

REVIEW: Sisleÿa l’Intégral Anti-Age Eye and Lip Contour Cream Limited Edition

Sisleya L'Integral Anti Aging eye and lip cream

Sisleya L’Integral anti-age eye and lip contour cream has been around for 17 years with the latest version, a limited edition, offering advanced technology and new ingredients, targeting not only visible signs of genetic and environmental ageing but taking behavioural factors like stress, pace of life and overexposure to the sun into account. I must say, I was super excited to see a massage roller accompanying the cream as the roller (and I’ve tried out a few), is seriously fab, in fact I’m keeping it to re-use.

Sisleya L'Integral Anti Aging eye and lip cream

“The eyes are one of nature’s
most beautiful creations: they transcend speech,
They are the incarnate symbol of identity.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

I can’t sing the praises of Sisley Paris Black Cream Mask enough as one of the best masks ever; whether its the gentle and delicate hint of rose petals, or the rich and decadent consistency one can leave on overnight that appeals to my senses (the smell and the fact I don’t have to sit around waiting for it to work but can go to sleep and awaken with fresh and plump looking skin!) BUT I digress, the review is on another Sisley fabulous product : Sisleys L’IntegraleAnti-Age Eye and Lip Contour Cream. Despite the long title and heavy price tag, it gets a big thumbs up for eye concerns like puffiness, dark circles, loss of firmness and those nasty fine lines and wrinkles that come along as one ages.

There’s heaps of almost all organic ingredients and formulated without essential oils to help strengthen the vulnerable skin around the eye.

Persian Acacia and Lindera extracts combined with soya and yeast protein help re-energize the eye contour reducing fine lines and also helps with vertical lines around the mouth area.

Vitamin E fights against free radicals whilst Atlas Cedar and fermented pomegranate extract combat dark circles around the eyes. Caffeine fights against puffiness while shea butter and glycerin protects and moisturises.

I have really sensitive eyes and the cream didn’t bother them at all, in fact it is perfectly suited for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. It has been tolerance tested under dermatological and ophthalmological conditions.

Now lets talk about the roller again, far superior to any other I have tried and as I said I’ll be using it aggain with other products. The sturdy metal head gives a cooling sensation when rolled over the face and it feels really therapeutic. I love rolling it over my lips and it’s definitely softened fine lines around the mouth area. I’m including Sisleÿa l’Intégral Anti-Age Eye and Lip Contour Cream tutorial featuring a gorgeous model who does it justice!

Sisley is a skincare brand I absolutely love and in fact, if it wasn’t for the price tag I’d swamp my bathroom shelf with all of their skincare products! As a beauty junkie, I’m a firm believer in spending money on my skin, and if necessary I cut back on buying makeup items. Sisleÿa l’Intégral Anti-Age Eye and Lip Contour Cream Limited Edition has lasted close to four months.

Let me know if you have tried out any SISLEY products?

Happy Tuesday
